The word "secos e molhados" is not used nowadays, I think. It was like "Emporium" where you could buy "dry" (food) and "wet"(beverage) goods. Also it was a name of a famous band in Brazil where Ney Matogrosso was the vocalist.
I am not aware of any other meaning.
Just curious here, what was the job about? Translator or faciliator or something like that?
