Mensagem:  Johannes is right about it being called a part. I part my hair on the left side. Forelock seems to be Victorian term. Reading old style stories one reads "He tugged at his forelock while he worried about the princess." We don't use it much except when talking about horses. That's because most people don't leave their forelock hanging down but come it up and back in a wave. Horses have forelocks and fetlocks. Bangs is a style of haircut where the hair hangs down over the forehead. It is very common. The word widow's peak is used a lot. It signifies the way the hair line dips down in a V at the center of the forehead.
