Mensagem:  How interesting!!! I was just talking to someone in campus who made a comment of my looking like a by-product of slaves and slave owners. He didn't say it a deragoratory way. He implied that had I lived in the slavery days, I would've been a house slave. I will check the book as I am very interested in the dynamics and concept of race in America. Yes I do realize that Southerners and their history are more complex than Northerners portray them. I just came back from Houston, Texas. I stayed there for 6 weeks. By the way, who do you identify more with, Northerners or Southerners? -Miguel Vieira
