Mensagem: | Back to the topic of a few days ago. It struck me that in Portuguese there are verb tenses that do away with please and are a polite way of asking with out the por/faz favor. This is what I saw for instance at a machine you can draw cash ( multi banco / cash machine?) Wait a moment, please Aguarde um momento Therefore if you say 'Sente-se' for 'sit down please' you use 'sente' em vez de 'senta' and that is in itself a polite form . Please correct me if I am wrong |
