Assunto:  The difference between aspect and tense

Mensagem:  «In technical sense English verbs have only two tenses, the known present simple (go) and past simple (went), all other forms are made using auxiliaries".» So what about the perfect tense 'gone'? Although the perfect tense uses an auxiliary, gone is still another form of the verb to go. While the analysis of this may be interesting to those who study English as a science, as far as the process of language learning / acquisition is concerned, what can one do knowing the difference between aspect and tense?
