Mensagem:  Senhor Jose Roberto, by "modern slaves" I meant to say the average American worker who depends on his/her weekly paychecks to SURVIVE. Their salaries/wages are just enough to get by. If you take one or two paychecks away, they'd be ready to apply for food stamps. I know in Brazil it's 100x worse. However, this country, the United States, is too rich for people to be struggling the way they do. The U.S. is so rich it can literally make everyone wealthy and still not suffer (its economy). Unfortunately, 90% of its wealth goes to the top 5%. And guess what, although members of this elite 5% know that all the hard work is done by the workers (the 95%), they don't show one bit of gratitute to them. They view workers as mules. They (5%) are extremelly greedy. Bottom line, I just wish that this country's wealth be distributed more equitably, because not man or woman is an island. Everything is interconnected. We all get help from one another one way or another. Now, needless to say that I am not a fan of mad-capitalism. I'm not totally Socialist, either. I wish that there be a revolution that will implant a mixture of the two systems - Socialism and Capitalism. This way we would all get a decent piece of the PIE. -Miguel Vieira
