Mensagem:  very interesting stuff there's not even an infinitive in english - just a base form - go, be etc no present participle no gerund - an ING form (the quirk and greenbaum examples demonstrate that the present participle/gerund distinction does not apply in english) no past participle - a third form no obscure listing of tenses and their inconsistent uses - just a neat two tense two aspect verb with modal auxiliaries for obligation, probability (personal interpretation stuff)etc check out parts of michael lewis the english verb (english teaching publications)
