| Mensagem: | One more thing Pat, have you read the false cognate webpage on this site? You should! "stupid" in Portuguese actually means "muito mal-educado" i.e. extremelly impolite. I believe when people called others stupid in America they mean "burro". But that's not the case with you at all. You are a language beginner in a non-Portuguese speaking country and also in a country where the overwhelming majority of the people are very monolingual. In fact, just for trying to learn another language I salute you. After all, how many Euro and Afro Americans even try to master a second language? Think about it -Miguel Vieira |
