Mensagem: | Pronunciation is VERY important in the beginning. Especially in the case of English, which has a notoriously poor correlation between spelling and pronunciation, in addition to a phonetic signalling lower than Portuguese and to the differences in the inventory of phonemes, word stress and rhythm. Early contact with the written language in the absence of the spoken (and well-pronounced) language leads the learner to oral interpretation based on the native language and is the main cause of fossilization. |
