I personally think that pronunciation is not VERY important in the beggining, how could you be strict with somebody´s pronunciation if he can hardly put a sentence together ? and can not put his message across ??. Pronunciation is worrying when what the student is saying can not be understood at all. In that case, it is VERY important to improve it, if you try to correct the poor student whenever he mispronounce a word, you are sure to put him off speaking in the classroom and that might not help at all. But if he has a reasonable command of the grammar, it´s a different thing altogether. Mauricio |
