Dear Ricardo. I read what Hammerly said about pronunciation and I agree with him. I am not downplaying the importance of pronunciation in the beginning of the study of a second language. what I want to point out is, how strict should one be with the students as regards pronunciation ? let´s face facts now, there are lots of great theories written on papers but do they really work in the classroom ?? we know how hard pronunciation is for the students, Do you really think that it is THAT important ? , if so, how strict are you with the students ? wouldn´t you let them make any mistakes at all ? if you wouldn´t, and if it works out with you , let me know how you do it, for I´ve been teaching English for 4 years and to be honest with you, if you are too strict with pronunciation you aren´t going to get anywhere. best regards.
