Tom, I guess it's a personal thing. I would have probably called the gift of whistles "revenge".
I thought I was being a nice guy uncle years ago when I gave crayons to the son and daughter of a niece. She looked at them and said, "Uncle Dale, I could kill you..." But she didn't!
I got a drum for Christmas when I was about seven. Within days adults were offering me a pocketknife and 25 cents if I could discover where the sound was coming from. No, I didn't fall for it.
