In that context, "to regain conscious" is probably what the writer meant.  Probably.  He could have meant, however, "to return". 

She didn't come around after the accident. = She didn't return (go back) after the accident. 

Don't come around here again! = Don't come back here!  Don't return! 


Another meaning of "to come around" is "to change one's opinion". 

My father doesn't want me to marry Susan, but he'll come around after he knows her better. = My father doesn't want me to marry Susan, but he'll change his mind about the marriage after he knows her better.
