The English noun awe means "respectful fear or wonder". From this word, two adjectives were created: awesome and awful. Both adjectives had their original meaning related to the word awe. However, today, awesome is more likely to mean "outstanding" in an informal conversation, and awful is more likely to mean "unpleasant".
Awesome and awful may still be used with their original meaning in some cases, but so does the word word irado. Is that what you wanted?
