Times have changed. For many years we went on hay rides. The hay was fresh and it was spread around in the back of the wagon or truck. It was fun to lay in the hay and watch the moon climb over the ridgeline.
The last two times we went on hayrides the hay was tied in bales (the way it is stored in the barn). That's no fun. It's like sitting on a bench or a box. No way to snuggle up with your date or maybe burrow down in the hay to get away from the breeze (or the chaperone). A real bummer. Seems it costs too much money to open the hay up and spread it around.
But, as far as a festa de peão goes, I'd say a hillbilly party. Hobo parties are different and the food has to be mulligan stew. A hillbilly party seems more like a peão type affair.
