If we "ask a leading question" to trick someone into saying something, aren't we "jogando verde"? If we "bait someone", we're doing the same thing.
John: "Hey, your girlfriend has called five times. It's very important that you call her immediately."
Bill: "Did Mary say what the emergency is?"
John: "So Mary is your girlfriend! I thought so."
Isn't that "jogando verde"?
Barabara Walters pulled a good stunt years ago. Maybe she was talking to Mrs. Ford, the First Lady at that time. She got Mrs. Ford talking about her move from the White House. As Mrs. Ford was telling her about the things she was taking, Walters asked for clarification: "That bed you'll be taking. Is is a king size or a double?" Walters wasn't asking about the Fords' move from the White House, she was asking about their sex life. Isn't that "jogando verde"?
