Preciso de um help...
Gosto de ler as historinhas da turma da Monica, na versao em ingles e tem um dialogo entre a mae do Cascao q diz: Was that you? Isso foi vc?
Desculpem a minha ignorancia, mas you nao esta relacionado com were???

...............................................................................................................

I understand your confusion!  "Was that you?" is correct.

In English the emphasis is on "that" or "who", not on "you".  Leave Portuguese behind for a moment and think in English.

Q.  I heard something at the door.  What was it?

A.  It was Fred.  He had forgotten his keys.  (Not "Was Fred." or "He was Fred.")

Q:  I heard someone at the door.  Who was it?

A:  It was John and Mary.  (Not "They were John and Mary.')

Knock, knock, knock!

Q:  Who is it?

A:  It's Dale and Claudia.  (Not "We are Dale and Claudia".)
