Mensagem:  Dear Jose, According to how you described the book I guess it may be the "Perfecting the Sounds of American English" by Bernard Silverstein, Ph.D. The difference between the sounds of 'w' is that 'W' is aspirated when it precedes an 'h' and the word is used at the beginning of a phrase. Usually this phenomenon occurs in questions and is used for emphasis. That is a minor detail and probably it would not interfere with the understanding of the utterance.
