Mensagem:  Good evening to everyone !

My question is about "sorrow".
As far as I know, sorrow is a feeling (or situation) of great sadness, but could I say "great sorrow" ? Does "great" sound redundant ?

What about this sentence:
- His death was "a great sorrow" to me ?

And would "sorrow" suit this sentence:
- Liza cried during the film because she felt sorrow when the girl in the film lost her mother in an accident.

Thank you.
