Assunto:  1.5 and 1,5 what is the difference?
 
Mensagem: 

The conventions are different. In Portuguese, we use the comma (,) to separate decimals, but, in English, they use the final point.

So we say:

- in Portuguese: 1.000,00

- in English: 1,000.00

Both meaning the same: one thousand.

It is different, but the same.
