Assunto:  Native speakers' inability to explain grammar

Seems to me that there are 2 types of english teachers / teaching.

1. Those that teach English to the  already English speaking, which is entirely different  from

2. those who teach it as a second language.

To teach it as  second language  you would  have to familiarize yourself , to say the least, with the  first language of the student.

For example , there are languages that don't have articles, plural of nouns, simple past tense  etc.

It would be interesting  to learn from Ricardo how different the  approach or method between the Japonese and the Brazilian market is.

While I know that Ricardo's favorite is 'Immersion', we have read on the latest posts that in a classroom environment students give up if they can't understand  what the teacher is saying if he only speaks in the language to want to learn.
