I wish I had MUCH money...
The adjective much is mainly used in interrogative and negative sentences:
How much money do you have?
I don't have much money actually.
In affirmative statements, a lot of and lots of are more common:
I wish I had a lot of money.
I wish I had lots of money. (informal)
The original sentence sounds awkward because of the above-mentioned. It is not grammatically wrong though.
