My daughter spent almost 11 months in North Carolina. She was 16 years old and spoke nothing but English the whole period she stayed there. At the time she came back, her fluency was very good, but there were still some words she couldn´t pronounce as a native. I have a niece and a nephew that spent less time than you (4 months). Their English is not good. The people who managed the interchange program said the obvious: students who stayed a year came back home with an English better than the ones who stayed there for 6 months.

I agree with Dale. Don´t be so hard on yourself. What do you want to do with your English? Teach? Translate? Tourist guide? Different activities require a focus on different aspects. Try to focus on what is important for you and for your line of work, and go ahead. I mean, is it important a perfect pronunciation if you are going to translate?
