A bifurcação is a fork in the road.

When you are almost to Johannes' palace take the left fork in the road.  It leads straight to his home.  If you take the right fork you will end up at the beach.

Bola is a ball.

That's where pe de letra translations can get one in trouble.

We had a ball at Andre's party last night!!

A festa do André ontem a noite foi uma bola!!

Tivemos a maior bola na festa do André ontem a noite!!

All joking aside....a bola is aball, sphere, globe, bowl, round object.  In Potuguese it's a joke, wisecrack, witty saying or something similar.

Ele não é certo da bola.  He is not quite right in the upper stories.

Like Johannes says, what is the context of the use of the word?
