Could "font" be British English? I think in the USA it only means "pia batismal". If someone told me. "I'll meet you at the font in five minutes," I'd have no idea what he meant.
A "water fountain" has plumbing. You turn a handle, and water passes through pipes until it comes out so that you can drink it. They are very common in the USA where it is safe to drink water in this matter.
A "water cooler" uses bottled water that is cooled electrically. When you drink all the water, the bottle is exchanged for a new (full) one.
