A close knit family. = A family that is very supportive of its members.  One for all and all for one.

 

Live-in relationships. = I haven't heard this expression, but I would understand it as an unmarried couple living together.

 

It demands a lot of time and I do not have even 10 days at a stretch to spare =  It demands a lot of time and I do not have even 10 days free at the same time (10 continuous free days) that I can devote to it.

 

Singing is her passion and she wants to carve a niche for herself as a singer = Singing is her passion and she wants to start a career (make a name, find a place in the market) herself as a singer.
