'When someone hopes to become president (usually a well-known member of a political party), they can be called a "presidential hopeful." It's kind of an odd noun, but that's how the term is used here in the US.'

Would there be any equivalent term to refer to someone that hopes to become GOVERNOR (insteand of president)? Or a State Representative or Senator (Congress)? Governor hopeful ?? Senator hopeful?

Thanks
