I don't actually remember when I was four. However, When I was seven, I would attend this huge church in my neighbourhood where there were some people who spoke English, and every once in a while they would call a foreign pastor to give the service in English. I recall it as though it was today, all the people who didn't know a lousy word in English got enchanted by the foreigners and the speakers of English walking by them chatting in a different language. All of the non-native English speakers I met there had good jobs, salaries and were very respected among us by the fact that they could speak English. Nowadays, English has became one of the the most powerful, and worth-having asset in the modern world and he who doesn't master it, is bound to be left behind, watching the globalization happening in it. I mean, being just one spectator of the evolution.
