People often leave the labels on bedding and such.
Atlanta is an area of very recent and considerable prosperity. People in this area were traditionally quite poor, and now they can afford to buy furniture, etc. But they do not necessarily know that it is poor taste to leave the labels and price tags on.
Similarily, the nouvue riche do not know that it is poor taste to buy everything that they see. And some Brasilians here do not know that it is tacky (not to mention a big waste of money) to drive brand-new sport cars and motorcycles while they are living 15 or 20 persons to a house designed for 5.
It can take a lifetime or even generations to learn how to deal appropriatley with having, rather than not-having.
