That is an odd co-incidence by being the day after the american Day of Independance. How did that come to happen?

By the way, I saw an episode of "Race" on PBS. Towards the end it discussed how African-Americans are still largely segregated by geography - IOW, they mostly still live in homogeneous nieghborhoods and those areas have very depressed market values.

That is the main reason that black net worth is much lower than white net worth, regardless of income. I have read about this extensively, and I believe another strong factor is that the inheritance of poverty from slavery is still in effect. Most people (black or white)think that is an absurd idea, but it only makes sense that the effect would last at least as many generations as slavery did. There are two or three generations to go yet just to break even.
