Mensagem: | See that: For the pre-intermediate Brazilians I teach, I compare Simple Past and Present Perfect. Simple Past - finished action + date (e.g. I went to Thailand in 1992.) Present Perfect - 1. finished action + NO date (e.g. I have been to Thailand.) 2. action just finished (e.g. I have just eaten lunch.) 3. unfinished action (e.g. I have lived here for 10 years.) I use timelines for these 4 sentences and introduce each rule at least a day apart. I know it's limited, but for lower levels it seems to work. After a few exercises they seem to 'click'. There are also a great deal of exercises and lessons on this subject on the internet. Just search 'teaching present perfect' and be amazed:) Hope this helps!
