Mensagem:  "Magnetic resonance breast imaging" = "Imagem por ressonância magnética (do seio)"

Popularly known as "MRI" or "MR." Ex.: "Patient hauled in for an MR" (= Paciente registrado/dado entrada para uma ressonância magnética). The use does not always depend on the abuse. Still doctors have their own lingo, their own jargon, and probably have resorted to abbreviations in speech since the early days of medicine. So, perhaps, have all other professionals in their own field.

"Mammography" = "Mamografia"
