Deivis, I'm giving you some examples and will let you figure the meaning out for yourself.


1:  I told the boss to go to hell.

A:  So much for working here.  (Goodbye working here.)

B:  So much for employee-employer relations.  (We can forget about employee-employer relations now.

C:  So much for for the raise you were hoping for.  (You can kiss goodbye the raise you were hoping for.)


2:  It's raining.

A:  So much for being in weather forecasts.  (I'll never believe in weather forecasts again.) 

B: So much for going to the beach today.  (We have to forget about going to the beach today.)


3:  Flamengo lost the game this afternoob.  

A:  So much for winning the championship this year.  (There's no longer a chance to win the championship this year.)
