Pat, but in these words 'over 'is not meant as in excess.
'over ' is a difficult word for the Portuguese speaking because it has various meanings.
'Over ' in :a roof over my head, a plane is flying over, somewhere over the rainbow, overthere, it is all over now, has nothing to do with excess.
Difficult words to overcome.
