I still have a hard time understanding why Brazilians in Brazil are so obsessed with learning English. I know that it is because, supposedly, some version of English is the 'world language'. But the vast majority of Brazilians, day-to-day or even month-to-month or year-to-year, would have no need to speak English with anyone or for any reason.
Pat....you should know a little bit more about why Brazilians in Brazil are so obsessed with learning English. The reasons are as many as you can imagine or until your mind can reach at least...But I will give you some of those reasons, we live in a Tourist Country so we use to receive a lot of foreigners and it rises up a vaste market offering many job opportunities...Brazil´s export has grown tremendously over the last years and it also opens many businesses and many jobs as well...the globalization demands that you know a foreing language. Of course we will never come to reach the exellence in speaking English because we are not Americans, British or whatever...and if we go in business with China they certainly will speak in English with us or whoever will be.
(feel free to correct my mistakes, I´d love it)
Thank you very much.
