I know someone has posted a message about how "emendar o feridado"is said in English. As nobody came to a conclusion on how to say it, I decided to do some research on that. What I've found out is that you could say "make a long weekend". I don't know how to use it, though. I googled it, but I didn't find it being used with "holiday".
Does that exist? How would you say "os brasileiros adoram emendar feriados"?
I've also found "bridge the holiday to the weekend" and "merge the holiday with the weekend", but they sound so Portuguese. They might have been used by non-native speakers of English.
