Mensagem:

Nina,

O Rodofo já sintetizou tudo, mas para efeito de aula veja se dilatando
o assunto ajuda a tirar as dúvidas.

Sometimes is confusing... who borrows, who lends to or from....

BORROW needs an object, but not an indirect object
(An object answers the question, "What?")
May I borrow some money?
(object = some money)
I borrowed my father's car.
(object = my father's car)

LEND needs an indirect object + a direct object
(An indirect object answers the question, "Who?")
Will you lend me some money?
 (indirect object = me)(object = some money)
 Sara lent Max her dictionary.
(indirect object = Max)(object = her dictionary)

Go there and get the test.

Think of give and take  (for a short time), like sell and buy.
I lend to you, you borrow from me. I borrow from you, you lend to me.
I sell to you, you buy from me. I buy from you, you sell to me.
I give to you, you take from me. I take from you, you give to me.
lend to  X   borrow  from
sell   to  X   buy        from
give  to  X   take       from

He lent me ten dollars.
I can lend the book to you if you want.
She borrowed ten dollars from the bank.
I borrowed a book from the library.
She lent her book to a friend.
Will your friend lend you his car?
He borrowed Nina's book for a day.
Can I borrow a pen?
Will you lend me ten dollars until tomorrow?
I will lend you some money. Don’t worry.
I want you to lend me your book.
Could you lend me your pen ?
May I borrow your pen?
I forgot my pen. Can I borrow one from you?
I forgot my pen. Can I borrow yours?
Can you lend me a hand?
Who can lend me a hand?
Please lend me a hand will you?
I'm hoping you guys can lend me a hand.
