Renata, it's "rock", not "hock".

 

 "He likes hiking and rock climbing."

 

to hike - fazer caminhatas

 

to rock climb = usar cordas para escalar pedregulhos, penhascos, etc. (Check out "to abseil" and "to belay".)

Rock climbing is simpler and safer than mountain climbing, but it still requires good equipment, skill, and experience if you want to return home in one piece.
