If I envision a "rodoviária" right, I'd think of it as an inter urban bus station, a place where urban and inter-urban coaches pick you up and vice versa, especially if you want to go from town X to town Y within the same state border or if you want to travel out-of-state, in which case you board an usu. Itapemirim-type inter state double decker and off you go.
My idea of "uma rodoferroviária"--I have never seen one in my whole deranged life--comprises a railway and [urban and inter urban] bus station, complete with restaurants, restrooms, movie theatres, souvenir stores, bookstores etc.
The general bus station may seem to comprise it all, though. You may find all the statebound Itapemirim-type coaches, inter-city coaches, and all those 2- and 3-door suburban coaches, incoming and outgoing, all in one single place for the passenger's convenience there.
