Assunto:  Qual a diferença entre rise e increase?

Mensagem:  Here is the real difference: 'rise' can be used in place of 'increase' in most contexts, but the reverse isn't true. "increase" is from L 'crescere', and so cognate to P 'crescer'; as a Latin-based word in English, it has limited application.  As a basic AS word, 'rise' has a greatly broader application.

A propósito: when speaking of getting up, or waking up in the morning, 'arise' is the correct word, not 'rise'.
