I can understand the confusion.
"I like his attitude." = I like how he thinks positively.
"He has a great attitude." = He is confident, cheerful, positive, etc.
"He came in here with an attitude." = He came here angry, hostile, arrogant, etc.
"Don't give me any of your attitude." = Shut up. I don't want to hear your hostile remarks.
