Mensagem:  time to fess up ... i am a lover of language who spent an extended period in Italy teaching English and learning Italian back in Australia now but still do some translations and have contact with a number of learners of English (informally rather than in a classroom context) - as well as Italian language I work in a legal/administrative area (wage slave) and do some teaching (IT Law) in some colleges here as well some Brazilians I know were discussing their experience learning English and one gave me the url of this forum (so blame him!) was introduced to 'two-tense' verb paradigm at 'communicative' teaching course (Dip TEFLA) in Milan (Michael Lewis book etc) Are you a student? Not officially but always open to learning A teacher? Yes, but no longer teaching English A professor? Only in my dreams!! Or a hard-core fan of linguistics/languages? Probably closest so ... there you go PS Pat (assuming you read this!) I liked your insight on the Calif election – very sharp – it will be interesting to see whether AS can meld those disparate ends of politics – he does indeed have a unique profile
