Mensagem:  Oi Jose, In the case of 'simple', using 'more' instead of 'er' doesn't sound natural. It would be rare indeed to hear a native speaker use it that way. The same goes for 'easy'. 'Clever' could go either way; 'cleverer' is a bit akward sounding with the redundant ending, although I've heard it from British speakers. The word in general is not commonly used by Americans, they would tend to say 'smart' or 'sharp' instead.
