Mensagem:  Pat, Purtuguese grammar structure is certainly not easier than that of English. In fact, I would venture to say that Portuguese grammar structure is much more complex as I'm sure a lot more people in this forum would agree. You see, the portuguese language is notoriously known to be a very difficult language to master. Even native portuguese and Brazilian speakers sometimes take their whole lives and never really completely master their native tongue. Needless to mention that in the former African colonies, the problem is even worse. I am a classic example, I studied Portuguese for more than 8 years and yet I don't speak and write it at a master level. My mastery of English, however, is another story. In the US and UK, however, very few people, at least those with any significant amount of formal education, would be considered to have less than a mastery level of their native tongue, English. I wonder why this is so? You mind commenting...
