Mensagem:  "I hope it doesn't rain tomorrow" - said without having heard the weather forecast. "I wish it wouldn't rain tomorrow" - said having heard the forecast predicting likelihood of rain. "I hope we win tonight" "I wish we could win tonight" "I hope you will consider what I have said" "I wish you wouldn't do that" It seems to me that 'hope' is used when outcome is a coin-toss, and 'wish' is used often as a contrast to the likely outcome.
