Mensagem:  Hello Pat "On a different subject, can anyone think of a modern English verb other than 'to be' that has a first person singular conjugation (present tense) that is different from 2nd person sing, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd person plural? I don't believe there is one." Yeah, and this becomes more evident when we look at its past simple conjugation, where 'was' belongs to the singular pronouns and 'were' belongs to the plural pronouns (remembering that 'you' is originally 2nd. person plural.)
