Mensagem:  Hehe, my teacher is a man and i'm a man too. &"Ainda bem!&" (don't know how to say &"ainda bem&" in English... :-( ). It would be very embarassing to use the wrong words... Japanese does have that difference: female speakers use some words or particles that make speech &"softer&", and male do not. There is &"neutral&" speech, but i don't know if it's _really_ neutral. Besides, in Japanese there are more than five ways to say &"I&", according to sex, age, hierarchy, etc...
Just out of curiosity: Is your teacher a man or a woman? I heard there are differences in speach between men and women when speaking Japanese. In other words, to express the same idea man and woman use different speach or something like that. Many American male executives when delivering some speach or conducting a meeting in Japanese caused embarrassment on other Japanese males. That is because of those Americans had had female Japanese teachers
