"Allow run-off into bowl and refill to 1 cup"?

Paula, I don't think the problem is with your English but rather with the writer's English.  I would expect "run-off" to refer to a liquid.  The sentence doesn't make much sense to me, but I don't pretend to be a cook.  It appears to me to be another example of poorly edited instructions.
