Mensagem:  Olá, Veja o texto que eu consegui na internet. The first Canadian Thanksgiving may have been celebrated in 1578 by an English explorer named Martin Frobisher. He was in search of a northern passage, landed in what is now Canada and set up a settlement. He celebrated and gave thanks for surviving the long ocean voyage. European settlers brought the tradition of a harvest festival with them when they came to Canada. In 1957 Parliament set the date for Thanksgiving as the second Monday in October. In the United States Thanksgiving is a time to remember the Pilgrims. They were English colonists who had settled at Plymouth, Massachusetts. In 1621 the Pilgrims celebrated the harvest. Thanksgiving Day in the U.S. is on the fourth Thursday of November (Nov.27,2003). Families have a feast of turkey with all the trimmings and other traditional foods. Macy's Thanksgiving Parade is held every year in New York. The day after Thanksgiving is the day to start shopping for Christmas.
