LINGUISTICS & CULTURE

I have an English school in Boston and we have taught over 5000 Brazilians over the past 10 years. 75% of them have studied in those franchises in Brazil (Wizard, Wisdom, CCAA, Fisk...you name it) for 2, 3 or even 7 years and THEY DON'T KNOW ANYTHING!
So, from my own practical experience, a little piece of advice: do not waste your money with those schools! I heard great things about Cultura Inglesa but they teach British English. I am sure independent schools are also better because they can adjust to the students' needs.
I personally get so pissed off when I see that my students have wasted thousands and thousands of reais without having even a good foundation in English that I had been compelled to come and open my own school in Belo Horizonte. This is not an advertising at all but rather to give you an idea that the goal of my school would be to get all my students to go on exchange programs around the world (even if the school has to solicit scholarships for that) and even enter American, British, Canadian and Australian colleges. That's not something that a franchise can prepare their students for!
So, choose carefully..........
